Terms of service

These terms cover your use of the Dabers ANPR Chrome extension, its website and the lookup service behind them (together, "the service"). The service is provided by Marcin Daber, trading as Dabers ANPR ("we", "us"). By installing the extension or creating an account you agree to them.

1. What the service does#

You right-click an image of a vehicle. The extension sends the image's web address to our servers. We read the number plate from the image and fetch that vehicle's MOT history from the DVSA, then show it on the page you are viewing.

The service covers UK-registered vehicles only.

2. Your account#

• You sign in through our login provider. Keep your login details safe; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• You must be 18 or over, or have the permission of a parent or guardian.
• One person per account. Do not share or resell access.

3. Credits#

• Each successful lookup uses one credit.
• The free tier includes 100 credits a month. We may change the free allowance with notice on this website.
• You can buy more credits through Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay, in pounds sterling, including any VAT that applies.
• Looking up the same image again does not use a credit while we hold that result.
• Bought credits are tied to your account and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.

4. Refunds and cancellation#

Credits are digital content supplied as soon as you pay. When you buy, you agree that supply starts straight away and that you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once it has. This does not affect your legal rights if the service is faulty: if a lookup fails because of our error, contact us and we will restore the credit or refund it.

5. The data we show you#

MOT history comes from the DVSA MOT History API. We show it as we receive it. We do not inspect vehicles and cannot promise the record is complete or current.

Plate reading is automatic and can be wrong. Check that the plate shown matches the vehicle in the image.

6. Fair use#

Do not:

• automate lookups, scrape results, or use the service to build a competing database;
• try to get around credit limits or access other people's accounts;
• interfere with, overload or reverse-engineer the service;
• use the service unlawfully, including to track or harass a person.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Changes and availability#

We work to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available or error free. We may change features or these terms. We will post changes here and update the date below. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the extension or by email.

8. Liability#

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Otherwise, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses (such as lost profit or lost deals), or for decisions you make based on a lookup. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Ending your account#

You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time (see Your data rights). Unused credits are lost when an account is deleted.

10. Law#

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts.
