Your data rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, you have rights over the personal data we hold about you. This page explains them and how to use them. For what we collect and why, see the Privacy policy.
Your rights#
- Access. Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification. Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Erasure. Have your data deleted, for example when you close your account. We may keep payment records where the law requires it.
- Restriction. Ask us to pause using your data while a complaint is looked at.
- Portability. Get the data you gave us in a machine-readable format (JSON).
- Objection. Object to processing we do on the basis of legitimate interests, such as caching and logging.
- Automated decisions. We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects by automated means. Plate reading is automated but only identifies a vehicle.
How to make a request#
If you write from another address we may need to confirm it is you.
- We reply within one month. If a request is complex we may extend this by up to two more months and tell you why.
- Requests are free. We may charge a reasonable fee or refuse if a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.
Deleting your account#
Email us asking for deletion. We will delete your account, credit balance and cached lookups linked to you within 30 days and confirm when it is done. Unused credits are lost. Payment records are kept for 6 years for tax, then deleted.
To remove data held on your own device, log out of the extension and uninstall it.
